How to Join the CCSS Slack Workspace

A Slack workspace is a shared hub made up of channels where members can communicate and work together. When you join a workspace, you'll need to create a Slack account using your email address.

1. Click on the Slack logo above. You should be redirected to a page as shown below.

   

2. Sign up using your approved Carleton email address (FirstnameLastname@cmail.carleton.ca) and click on “Continue”.

3. Check your inbox for a confirmation email from Slack. Open the email and click on “Confirm Email Address”.

   

4. Next to the workspace's name, click Join to create an account and sign in.

   We highly recommend downloading the Slack app on your phone to receive real-time updates. Don’t forget to go to your settings on Slack and ensure that you turn on notifications!

Joining Discord

1. Open Discord and log into your account, if needed.
2. Click the plus icon in the left sidebar.
3. Select "Join a server”
4. Paste in the invite link here and click on "Join”.
5. You’ve joined the CCSS Discord Server! WELCOME to the Carleton CS Community, we’re so happy to see you here! 🎉 Please head over to the Welcome channel (in #welcome), and then read and understand the rules of this server (in #rules).
